Mobile Plant Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Mobile HGV / Plant Engineer to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician to work on a mixed fleet of over 100 vehicles, including HGVs and plant machinery, with a primary focus on road sweepers and specialist equipment. Benefits for the successful Mobile HGV / Plant Engineer:
- Salary of £61,360 per annum (£20/hour plus overtime)
- Monday to Friday daytime hours, averaging 55 hours per week
- Every other Saturday off
- Mobile role covering Berkshire and South of the country
- Company van and specialist tools provided

- Conduct maintenance and repairs on HGVs and plant machinery, including chassis and bodywork
- Service a diverse fleet of approximately 100 vehicles, mainly HGVs and plant equipment
- Carry out inspections and diagnostics to identify faults and recommend repairs
- Perform routine servicing in line with manufacturer guidelines
- Work on vehicles such as road sweepers and other specialised machinery
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations
- Document maintenance and repairs accurately
- Assist in training less experienced engineers when needed
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner
- Proven experience as a Mobile HGV / Plant Engineer or in a similar role
- Strong mechanical knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and vehicle systems
- Experience working on HGVs and plant machinery, including road sweepers
- NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent qualification is advantageous; time-served candidates also considered
- UK driving licence; HGV Class 2 licence preferred but not essential if experience is demonstrated
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work scheduled hours, including early starts and one day every other weekend
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training and qualifications
