Our client, ISS, is seeking a Mobile Plumber. The Mobile Plumber is responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive plumbing repairs, and general building fabric tasks across multiple sites within Leicester, Nottingham, and Derby.

The role ensures that all plumbing systems and associated equipment operate safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory standards.

Job Description

As a mobile technician, the role combines technical plumbing expertise with strong problem-solving skills, working flexibly across different KAN buildings each day.

Some days may involve multiple small jobs across several sites, while others will be spent completing extensive work at a single location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled PPM, inspections, leak detection tests, and corrective maintenance on plumbing systems and equipment.
  • Carry out fault-finding, troubleshooting, and repairs on pipes, drainage, water heaters, tanks, compressors, hydraulic lifts, sprinkler systems, and other plumbing assets.
  • Install, modify, and repair plumbing systems including routing pipework, fitting valves, traps, joints, and backflow prevention devices in line with relevant codes.
  • Interpret and work from building plans, blueprints, and technical diagrams to plan and execute plumbing works.
  • Complete building fabric tasks as required and support general mechanical operations across the estate.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, documentation, work orders, permits to work, and material usage logs.
  • Monitor and control contractors on-site, ensuring standards and safety procedures are met.
  • Prioritise workload effectively to meet SLAs across multiple sites, balancing reactive and planned tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety legislation, company policies, and site-specific procedures.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Fully qualified plumber with NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Plumbing & Heating or Mechanical Systems.
  • Strong background in FM / maintenance environments (ideally).
  • Proven experience in fault finding, diagnosing issues, and completing reactive repairs.
  • Ability to work confidently across a wide range of plumbing equipment and building systems.
  • Comfortable turning your hand to general building fabric tasks.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Strong awareness of H&S, compliance, and safe working practices.
  • Good customer interaction skills and ability to manage own workload.
  • UK driving licence - required for regional travel.
