A welcoming and well-established Montessori school in Islington is seeking a passionate and dedicated Montessori Teacher to join their team from September 2026 on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Montessori practitioner who is committed to delivering high-quality early years education and creating a nurturing, child-centred learning environment where children can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.



The Role

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging Montessori learning experiences for children under five, supporting their individual development while working within both the Montessori philosophy and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

Working closely with colleagues and families, you will help create a warm, stimulating and inclusive environment that promotes independence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.



Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Montessori learning experiences tailored to children's developmental needs.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Observe, assess and record children's progress and development.
  • Maintain children's learning journals, reports and assessment records.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers, sharing regular updates on children's progress.
  • Attend termly parent meetings and contribute to the wider school community.
  • Support children's social, emotional, physical and intellectual development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, external professionals and families.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day organisation and smooth running of the school.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety and welfare requirements are consistently met.


Requirements

  • Montessori Teaching Qualification (essential).
  • Minimum of 1 year's experience working with children under five.
  • Strong knowledge of Montessori principles and practice.
  • Excellent understanding of child development and the EYFS framework.
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain one.
  • Early Years Teaching Degree and QTS desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication, organisation and record-keeping skills.
  • A caring, proactive and professional approach.
