The Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
- Deliver small group activities under the guidance of the class teacher
- Help create a positive, supportive learning environment
- Build strong relationships with pupils and staff and fully immerse yourself in school life
- Take a proactive approach and get involved in all aspects of the classroom
- A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (or due to qualify soon)
- A reference from your placement, highlighting your interaction with children
- A positive attitude towards supporting students and their individual needs
- Confidence supporting students with Autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, SEMH, and PMLD
- Ability to support with personal care (desirable but not essential)
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow direction from the class teacher
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education
