Up to £41,000 per annum (depending on skills and abilities)

The Role:

We are supporting a highly respected advanced manufacturing business in the search for an NPI Engineer to play a key role new product manufacturing.

This is a hands-on, varied position suited to someone who enjoys being directly involved in the manufacturing process from concept through to production. The role will involve managing manufacturing instructions and processes associated with new products, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), process documentation, measurement and inspection methods, and production routing.

Working closely with engineering, production, and quality teams, you will support the practical manufacture of products on the shop floor, including grinding, measurement, inspection, testing, and process validation activities to ensure products are manufactured efficiently, accurately, and to the required quality standards.

The successful candidate will be a logical and methodical thinker with a practical engineering mindset, capable of identifying manufacturing challenges, solving problems, and continuously improving processes to deliver cost-effective and repeatable production methods.

Responsibilities of the NPI Engineer:

  • Supporting the introduction of new products from concept through to full production.
  • Working closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure smooth product launches.
  • Reviewing designs to ensure manufacturability, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Supporting process development and improvement within a batch manufacturing environment.
  • Using CAD tools to create engineering drawings.
  • Working with MRP systems to manage product and production data.
  • Assisting with costing, planning, and technical documentation
  • Driving collaboration across departments to resolve issues and deliver solutions

The Candidate:

The successful NPI Engineer will have the following skills and abilities:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards.
  • Experience with CAD (AutoCAD preferred).
  • Educated to NVQ Level 3 in an engineering discipline.
