We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join our welcoming nursery team in Wimbledon. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated childcare professional who is ready to take the next step in their early years career within a supportive and rewarding environment.
As a Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to help lead the day-to-day operations of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and education are consistently delivered. The successful Deputy Manager will play a key role in supporting staff development, maintaining strong parent partnerships, and ensuring compliance with EYFS and Ofsted requirements.
This full-time Deputy Manager position offers 40 hours per week, worked across either 4 or 5 days, providing flexibility and a healthy work-life balance. The salary for this Deputy Manager role is up to £41,600 depending on experience and qualifications.
We are looking for a Deputy Manager who is enthusiastic, organised, and confident in leading a team. You should have previous experience in a senior nursery role and possess excellent communication and leadership skills. The ideal Deputy Manager will be passionate about creating engaging learning opportunities for children while supporting a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
Key responsibilities of the Deputy Manager include supporting daily nursery operations, mentoring practitioners, overseeing planning and observations, ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed, and assisting with occupancy and parent engagement. The Deputy Manager will also step into the Nursery Manager’s role when required and help drive continuous improvements throughout the setting.
To be considered for this Deputy Manager opportunity, applicants should hold a relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or above. Previous leadership experience within a nursery setting is highly desirable.
