Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Nutritionist to support school contracts across the South East.
Job Overview
This role plays a central part in ensuring children receive healthy, nutritious meals that meet all legislative, allergen and educational standards. Working across multiple school sites, the Nutritionist will provide expert guidance on menu compliance, special diets and nutrition education, helping to deliver a consistent and high-quality food offer.
The postholder will also contribute to wider health and wellbeing initiatives, working closely with internal teams, schools and local partners. Through education programmes, reporting and community engagement, the role supports improved dietary habits and increased school meal uptake.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on nutrition, special diets and food allergies across education contracts.
- Manage and process special diet referrals, creating compliant menus using the organisation’s menu platform.
- Assess and monitor menus against School Food Standards to ensure full compliance.
- Lead the delivery, support the creation and evaluate the impact of the Roots for the Future nutrition and sustainable diets programme.
- Support the delivery and audit of internal training programmes relating to healthy eating and allergen management.
- Lead nutrition education activities within local community and council projects during school holidays.
- Produce an annual regional impact report covering nutrition and special diets.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with local public health teams and collaborate with marketing and communications colleagues on accurate nutrition messaging.
Person Specification
- Degree in Nutrition or a suitable equivalent qualification.
- Registered Nutritionist or Dietitian (ANutr, RNut or RD).
- Strong knowledge of special dietary requirements, allergen legislation and School Food Standards.
- Confident, engaging presentation skills with a creative approach to programme delivery.
- Passion for food, cooking and improving children’s dietary habits.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Full UK driving licence, with flexibility to travel regionally.
