On-Site Infrastructure Engineer

We're working with a leading organisation to recruit an experienced On-Site Infrastructure Engineer to support critical IT operations across multiple UK and international sites.
This is a hands-on role where you'll act as the key on-site technical expert, ensuring infrastructure reliability while supporting global IT teams.

The Role
As the on-site "hands and eyes" for IT, you'll be responsible for maintaining and supporting network, server, and site infrastructure, while playing a key role in project delivery and service improvement.
You'll work across data centre operations, infrastructure support, and stakeholder coordination to ensure seamless IT service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support across network, server, and infrastructure environments
  • Carry out IMAC activities (installs, moves, adds, changes)
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues
  • Perform physical infrastructure tasks (racking, cabling, patching)
  • Manage server rooms and comms environments
  • Support network troubleshooting (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi/voice)
  • Handle incidents, requests, and changes via ITSM tools (e.g. ServiceNow)
  • Coordinate with vendors and manage repairs/logistics
  • Support infrastructure projects, upgrades, and migrations
  • Ensure compliance with security, safety, and IT standards


What We're Looking For

  • 3-5 years' experience in Network / Infrastructure Engineering
  • Strong hands-on IT infrastructure and troubleshooting experience
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure/AWS) and virtualization
  • Experience with networking technologies (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto)
  • Familiarity with modern networking concepts (TCP/IP, SD-WAN, Zero Trust)
  • Experience with servers, storage (NetApp/Dell EMC), and end-user devices
  • Comfortable working with physical infrastructure (cabling, racking, hardware handling)
  • CCNA (preferred but not essential)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Highly organised with the ability to multitask
  • Comfortable working independently and within global teams
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement


Additional Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence (travel between sites required)
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours when needed
  • Participation in an on-call rota

  • UK Midstream sites
  • London Colo
  • Nordic locations
