About the Role

Our client is a well-established and growing service-led organisation based in Kent, delivering projects and services for clients across the UK.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead operational performance, develop teams, improve efficiencies, and support the continued growth of the business.

This is a senior leadership position requiring strong operational, commercial, and people management skills, with responsibility for ensuring the highest standards of service delivery, customer satisfaction, compliance, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership across operational departments and service delivery teams.

  • Drive operational performance, efficiency, and profitability across the business.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop operational managers, supervisors, and support teams.

  • Oversee workforce planning, resource allocation, and operational scheduling.

  • Ensure all operations are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry regulations.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.

  • Monitor and analyse operational KPIs, budgets, and performance metrics.

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational development.

  • Support business growth initiatives and service expansion opportunities.

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, environmental, and quality standards.

  • Work closely with senior leadership to support the achievement of company objectives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior operational leadership position.

  • Experience gained within service-led businesses, infrastructure, utilities, facilities management, construction, engineering, maintenance, or related sectors.

  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and operational performance.

  • Demonstrable experience leading large operational teams.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.

  • Strategic thinker with excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.

  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

  • Experience managing multi-site operations.

  • Experience working within fast-paced service environments.

  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.

  • Experience delivering operational improvement programmes.
