With revenues approaching £80m, approximately 500 employees and a multi-site operational footprint, the business has established a market-leading position within its specialist sector through engineering excellence, operational agility and an unwavering focus on customer delivery.

The Opportunity
This Operations Director appointment combines strategic influence with hands-on operational leadership.
The successful Operations Director will assume responsibility across engineering, manufacturing, planning and purchasing functions within a highly customised and technically demanding manufacturing environment.
Unlike many Operations Director roles operating within mature, highly repetitive production environments, this opportunity requires somebody capable of balancing operational discipline with agility, responsiveness and engineering judgement.
The role will focus on:
- Leadership of engineering, manufacturing and purchasing activities
- Operational performance and organisational capability
- Planning, systems and operational improvement initiatives
- Leadership development and succession capability
- Cross-functional alignment and stakeholder engagement
- Supporting future growth, scalability and investment planning

About You
We are interested in speaking with experienced Operations Directors, Manufacturing Directors, Engineering Directors and senior operational leaders who can demonstrate:
- A strong engineering and manufacturing background
- Experience leading large operational teams
- A track record of improving performance and developing capability
- Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills
- Commercial awareness and sound judgement
- A visible and engaging leadership style
Experience gained within complex engineering, specialist manufacturing, defence, rail, capital equipment, aerospace interiors, engineered products or similar environments would be particularly relevant.
