Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking an experienced and proactive Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of workplace and facilities services at a large, complex London site.
Job Overview
This is a highly people-facing role with a strong emphasis on stakeholder management, operational excellence, and health and safety compliance within a high-profile environment. The Operations Manager will play a key role in ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery across a diverse range of workplace and facilities services.
Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager – London & South Region, the role is responsible for translating operational plans into effective on-site delivery. You will lead site-based teams, manage subcontractors, and ensure all services are delivered in line with contractual requirements, SLAs, KPIs, and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of workplace and facilities services at the London site, ensuring consistent service standards.
- Ensure full compliance with SLAs, KPIs, statutory requirements, and company policies, with a strong focus on health and safety.
- Implement operational plans and priorities as directed by the Senior Operations Manager – London & South Region.
- Act as the primary on-site escalation point for day-to-day operational issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Lead, motivate, and develop site-based teams, including housekeeping staff and subcontracted service providers.
- Manage all aspects of staff management, including performance, attendance, absence, conduct, and capability.
- Deliver effective stakeholder management, building trusted relationships with client representatives and key site stakeholders.
- Monitor, report, and support site financial performance, operational risks, and continuous improvement actions.
Person Specification
- Proven experience within workplace services, facilities management, or workplace environments.
- Experience managing multiple service streams, including subcontractors (desirable).
- Strong stakeholder management skills within a complex, people-facing environment.
- Demonstrated people management capability, with the ability to engage, motivate, and develop teams.
- Sound financial awareness, including experience in cost control and budget management.
- Strong understanding of health and safety compliance in an operational environment.
- Confident user of workplace systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
