Location: London & South East (Site-Based / Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £90,000 DOE + Car Allowance + Package

We are seeking a highly experienced Operations Manager / Construction Operations Manager / Site Operations Manager to take full responsibility for the delivery of construction, refurbishment, and social housing projects across multiple live sites.

This is a senior-level Operations Manager position within a growing main contractor environment, offering the opportunity to lead multi-site operations, drive programme performance, and ensure successful project delivery across a £20m–£50m+ portfolio.

The successful Operations Manager will play a key leadership role in overseeing all site-based activity, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

As an Operations Manager, you will:

  • Lead and oversee construction operations across multiple live sites
  • Manage and support Project Managers, Site Managers, and delivery teams
  • Take ownership of programme delivery and operational performance
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant project execution across all sites
  • Oversee construction sequencing, logistics, and resource planning
  • Drive productivity improvements across all site operations
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations and company standards
  • Manage subcontractor performance and site coordination
  • Monitor progress across a multi-site £20m–£50m+ portfolio
  • Identify and resolve operational risks and site issues
  • Work closely with commercial teams to align cost, programme, and delivery
  • Track and report KPIs, progress, and operational performance
  • Lead site meetings and operational briefings
  • Support mobilisation and pre-construction planning
  • Drive continuous improvement across construction operations
  • Ensure all projects are delivered to programme and quality expectations

Skills & Experience Required

To be successful as an Operations Manager, you will need:

  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager, Senior Operations Manager, Project Manager, or Senior Site Manager
  • Strong background in construction, refurbishment, or social housing
  • Experience working within a main contractor environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple live construction sites
  • Strong understanding of construction operations and programme delivery
  • Excellent knowledge of health & safety (HSE compliance)
  • Strong leadership and team management capability
  • Experience working closely with commercial and delivery teams
  • SMSTS and CSCS (Black/Gold preferred)
