Operations Supervisor – Plating & Peening

Role Overview

• Lead and deliver daily Plating and Peening operations, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient surface treatment of landing gear components
• Accountable for throughput, production schedule achievement and on‑time delivery
• Own training, quality, safety, compliance and continuous improvement in line with Part 145 and QEHS requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and control operations to meet safety, quality, cost and delivery targets
• Optimise schedules, capacity and flow to maximise efficiency and throughput
• Identify risks, constraints and bottlenecks, implementing effective recovery plans
• Lead daily tier meetings, handovers, visual management and weekly production reviews
• Manage labour efficiency using ERP data, labour bookings and performance dashboards
• Ensure correct use, calibration and maintenance of all plating and peening equipment
• Maintain excellent housekeeping and environmental control standards
• Identify, justify and support capital and plant investment requirements

People & Culture

• Recruit, onboard, train and performance‑manage operational teams
• Maintain skills matrices, training records and succession plans
• Lead teams positively through change and continuous improvement activities
• Role‑model AEM behaviours and build strong cross‑functional relationships

Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Champion lean, 5S, GEMBA and Kaizen activities
• Proactively manage hazards, unsafe acts and operational risk
• Lead plating‑specific risk assessments and toolbox talks
• Ensure full compliance with Part 145, SMS, Quality and QEHS standards
• Investigate non‑conformances and drive effective corrective and preventative actions

Skills, Experience & Attributes

• Engineering or aerospace manufacturing leadership experience
• Working knowledge of electroplating processes (Chrome, Nickel, Silver, Cadmium)
• Strong lean capability and high digital competence (M365, ERP, Power BI, AI tools)
• Results‑driven, detail‑focused, confident communicator able to perform under pressure
