Stores Operative (Part Time)

Department: Stores
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9:00am – 2:00pm (20 hours per week)

Role Purpose

We are looking for a reliable and organised Stores Operative to support our manufacturing operation by preparing and assembling kits for the Panel Mill and Assembly teams. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth flow of materials required to build high‑quality kitchen cabinets, helping production teams meet output and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Picking, preparing and assembling component kits for the Panel Mill, Assembly and  departments
  • Ensuring kits are complete, accurate and prepared in line with production requirements
  • Working closely with production teams to ensure materials are available when needed
  • Checking components for quality and reporting any issues or shortages
  • Accurately recording stock movements and kit preparation data where required
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within the Stores area to support health, safety and efficiency
  • Adhering to all company and statutory health & safety procedures and reporting potential hazards
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the Stores and Production teams

Key Accountabilities

  • Follow defined processes to ensure consistent quality and accuracy of kits
  • Meet agreed output targets in collaboration with colleagues
  • Take responsibility for own work quality and accuracy
  • Promote a strong safety culture and stop unsafe practices when observed
  • Contribute positively to teamwork and internal customer satisfaction

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or production environment is desirable
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately
  • Well-organised with the ability to manage time effectively within a part‑time schedule
  • Positive, proactive and reliable approach to work
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate clearly
