Connect2Kent are looking for an analytical Payroll Officer with a mathematical approach to play a key role in delivering accurate, timely weekly payments for our temporary workforce. This role would suit an experienced payroll professional with strong attention to detail, proficient Microsoft Excel capability and confidence working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all workers and suppliers are paid accurately, on time and in line with legislation, contracts and internal processes. This is a role where strong judgement, attention to detail and collaborative working are essential, with responsibility for managing the full weekly payroll cycle and supporting continuous improvement.
What you'll be doing
Managing weekly payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely payments.
Overseeing data imports from CRM into the Pay & Bill system and resolving exceptions.
Reviewing warnings and errors to ensure compliance with processes and procedures.
Completing end‑to‑end payroll tasks including payslips, reconciliations and pension uploads.
Processing high volumes of holiday requests from temporary workers.
Responding to payroll queries from managers, workers and suppliers promptly and professionally.
Building strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners.
Supporting improvements to reporting, processes and controls.
Carrying out ad hoc duties as required by the Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll Officer.
What we’re looking for
Previous experience working in a fast‑paced payroll environment.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills are desirable.
The ability to analyse complex data and escalate issues appropriately
Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with strong attention to detail.
Ability to plan and prioritise workloads to meet challenging deadlines.
Accurate record‑keeping and confident data inputting.
