It employs a diverse workforce and is currently undergoing a period of organisational change, including estates activity and team restructures to ensure it continues to operate effectively and efficiently.
Description
- Managing a moderate ER caseload (typically 7-8 cases concurrently), with a focus on complex, policy‑led matters rather than high‑risk cases
- Providing ER advice, case management and consultation support to managers
- Coaching and guiding managers who require close support and reassurance
- Supporting pay and grading change processes (activity already in progress)
- Advising on organisational restructures, skills changes and business case development
- Supporting an estates move, including a London Zone 1 office relocation
- Working collaboratively with the wider People & Culture function, including People Partners, PC inbox/admin support, Recruitment, L&D and OD
- Operating within a non‑unionised environment
Profile
- An experienced People Partner / HR professional with a strong Employee Relations background
- Confident managing a moderate ER caseload independently, with a focus on complex, policy‑led cases
- Comfortable providing clear, pragmatic ER advice and coaching managers who require close support
- Experienced in consultation and organisational change, including restructures and business case advice
- Used to working in a public sector or regulated environment (e.g. healthcare, local government)
- Proactive, resilient and solutions‑focused, with a genuine hands‑on approach
- Able to build credibility quickly with stakeholders and work collaboratively across a People & Culture function
- Ideally brings some exposure to reward, pay and grading activity (desirable but not essential)
Job Offer
- 6‑month interim assignment with the potential to make immediate impact
- Hybrid working - 2 days per week in the Birmingham office (Tuesday plus one flexible day)
- Travel to the London office on occasion and paid for via the company
