What Are We Looking For?

As part of RSE’s Chemical Dosing Business, Chem Resist has an exciting opportunity for a Plastic Fabricator to join our experienced team in Dewsbury. The role involves fabrication of our bespoke large-scale plastic tanks and storage vessels, extending to pipework and other bespoke fabrications. You will be working with a market leader aiding in the manufacturing of innovative industry solutions.

Some of Your Key Duties:

  • Fabricate components from customer samples and/or engineers drawings to customer specifications and maintain/repair existing pipework systems.
  • Work with components such as PVC, PP, PVDF and ABS pipework.
  • Lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair piping systems.
  • Inspect materials and parts to ensure high standards maintained.
  • Safe use of hand tools, machinery and other equipment.
  • Opportunities to work both within our local fabrication workshop and remotely as part of our site installation team.
  • Assist other disciplines when required.

This is a clean welding environment, as the welding uses a hot air extrusion technique.

We work with a number of industries including Energy, Chemicals, Food & Utilities. The vessels are manufactured at our Site in Dewsbury using a Thermoplastic Extrusion Welding technique and we will teach you how to weld in plastic, at our dedicated, onsite training school.

You will work with an established team who deliver solutions to market with a fantastic reputation, so your attention to quality and detail will be paramount throughout your work.

What Do You Need?

  • Min Grade C or above in Maths & English.
  • You will have demonstrable fabrication experience, in sheet metal fabrications or similar.
  • You will have experience in reading detailed engineering drawings.
  • Due to the large scale fabrications, the role is physically demanding and as such you will have a good level of physical fitness.
  • You must be able to demonstrate a high level of commitment to Health and Safety & general workshop H&S practices.
  • Working at height and confined space is normal practice.
  • You must have the ability to work as part of a team and use your own initiative.
  • A high level of attention to detail is key.
  • You must be quality driven with a proven ability to work to strict quality standards.
  • NVQ OR City and Guilds Qualified in a relevant trade – advantageous.
