Work on real ships, not just parts on a bench What You’ll Be Doing
- You’ll be at the heart of the action — fabricating, assembling, and installing key ship components to the highest standards.
- Your day-to-day could include:
- Marking off materials
- Building ship structures (shells, decks, bulkheads & more)
- Fabricating items like ladders, panels & flooring
- Installing hatches, watertight doors & onboard equipment
- Using machinery for rolling, cutting & forming materials
- Preparing vessels for launch and sea trials
- Docking work, plate prep, pressure testing & fitting
- Ability to read fabrication & installation drawings
- Strong hands-on fabrication and assembly skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Solid awareness of safety, health & environmental risks
- Locals: £20.80/hr
- Non-locals: £28.80/hr
- Locals: £27.66/hr
- Non-locals: £35.66/hr
- Minimum 37 hours per week
- Overtime available (not guaranteed)
- 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)
- Trade test & security clearance required
