PLC Programmers – 2 x Contract Roles (Immediate Start)

Location: North of England (between Leeds and York)
Rate: £45 per hour (Outside IR35)
Contract Length: 8–12 weeks
Shift Pattern: Double day shift – 06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00
Start Date: Immediate

Overview

We are currently seeking two highly experienced PLC Programmers to support ongoing automation and machinery projects within a busy manufacturing environment in the North of England. These are short-term contract roles with an immediate start available.

The positions are suited to strong, hands-on automation engineers who are confident working in fast-paced industrial environments and delivering robust control system solutions under tight deadlines.

Role 1: Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 PLC Programmer

We are looking for a specialist with strong experience in:

  • Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 development and commissioning
  • Delivery of complex automation and control systems
  • PLC programming, debugging, and optimisation
  • Integration with industrial systems and field devices
  • Working within multidisciplinary engineering teams

Candidates should have a proven track record of delivering complex automation projects from design through to commissioning, ideally within high-performance manufacturing or production environments.

Role 2: Allen Bradley Studio 5000 PLC Programmer

We are seeking an experienced Allen Bradley engineer with:

  • Strong expertise in Studio 5000 / Logix 5000 PLC systems
  • Background in packaging machinery or automated production lines
  • PLC programming, fault finding, and system optimisation
  • Experience with conveyors, robotics, or high-speed packaging systems
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve live machine control issues efficiently

Candidate Requirements (Both Roles)

The ideal candidates will demonstrate:

  • Significant experience across industrial automation and PLC systems
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, or similar environments
  • Ability to work independently and deliver to tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills when working with engineering and production teams
  • A broad and diverse automation background is highly desirable

Working Pattern

  • Double day shift rotation:
    • 06:00 – 14:00
    • 14:00 – 22:00
  • Full-time on-site requirement

Package

  • £45 per hour
  • Outside IR35
  • 8–12 week contract
  • Immediate start available
  • No expenses, all in rate 

Additional Information
