A Plumbing Improver (specializing in sink water heaters/first & second fix) supports qualified engineers with installations and repairs. Job Purpose and Responsibilities
- Installation: Assisting with the first and second fixing of domestic plumbing, including installing sinks, taps, and point-of-use (undersink/oversink) water heaters.
- Pipework: Measuring, cutting, bending, and joining pipework (copper/plastic).
- Maintenance: Assisting with servicing, repairing, or replacing electric hot water systems and associated valves.
- Site Management: Ensuring work areas are clean and safe, and managing inventory/parts.
- Customer Service: Maintaining a professional demeanor and explaining work to customers.
Skills and Qualifications
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating (or working towards).
- Experience: Previous experience as a plumber’s mate or junior improver, ideally in residential, social housing, or site work.
- Licence: Full UK Driving License
- Technical Skills: Proficient with hand and power tools.
- Knowledge: Working knowledge of water regulations (WRAS). [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
