Due to expansion, we are looking for a motivated Buyer/Estimator to support our plumbing operations by sourcing materials, obtaining competitive pricing, and preparing accurate cost estimates for upcoming projects. This role ensures we secure the right products at the best value while supporting efficient project delivery. work.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the plumbing division of Plumb Tomatoes Ltd, an established and rapidly growing company specializing in plumbing, heating and maintenance solutions.

Candidates for this role will be expected to be able to work within a team, reporting to the Plumbing manager. The successful candidate will be skilled, professional and dedicated to the job and company.

Candidates would ideally come from a Plumbing background and a clean drivers’ licence is required.

Job benefits include:

A full-time position. · Twenty days paid holiday per year plus statutory 8 bank holidays. · Full uniform and PPE equipment provided · Regular training · Competitive rates of pay · Basic hours 45 hour week Monday – Friday 07:30am to 16:30pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and purchase plumbing materials, fixtures, and equipment from approved suppliers.
• Request and compare supplier quotes to secure competitive pricing.
• Build accurate cost estimates for plumbing jobs based on drawings, specifications, and labour requirements.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate pricing and terms.
• Track material usage and update job costing information.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate timely deliveries to job sites.
• Review project requirements with the operations team to ensure estimates are correct and materials meet standards.
• Keep up‑to‑date with plumbing products, pricing trends, and new technologies.

Skills & Experience

• Experience in buying, estimating or similar role within construction or plumbing (preferred).
• Strong understanding of plumbing materials and industry terminology.
• Good negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to read basic drawings and specifications.
• Proficient with spreadsheets, ordering systems, and basic estimating tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
