Ppt Driver

We are seeking a reliable and experienced PPT Driver to join our client on boarders of Luton and Dunstable.

Job Purpose:

To safely operate an electric Powered Pallet Truck (PPT) to move, load, and store goods within a cold storage warehouse, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with health & safety standards in a temperature-controlled environment.

Shift pattern Monday - Friday 13:00 - 22:00.

Pay rate £12.80ph

Temp-perm position which means 12 weeks through agency and then a full time contact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate PPT equipment to transport goods within the warehouse
• Load and unload pallets from racking, vehicles, and staging areas
• Accurately pick and stage orders using pick lists or RF scanners
• Work in cold store/freezer conditions (typically -18°C to 5°C)
• Ensure all products are handled carefully to avoid damage
• Follow stock rotation procedures (e.g., FIFO)
• Conduct daily equipment checks and report faults
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse
• Comply with all health & safety procedures, including PPE use
• Assist with stock counts and inventory checks as required

Key Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in operating PPT (Powered Pallet Truck)
• Previous warehouse experience, preferably in a cold store environment
• Good understanding of warehouse operations and safety standards
• Ability to work in low temperatures for extended periods
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills
