Tenancy Sustainment Officer
About the role
As a Tenancy Sustainment Officer, you will provide flexible, preventative and person-centred support to customers who need ongoing help to sustain their tenancy. Working closely with internal and external agencies, you will work with people with a wide range of needs, including those affected by disability, mental health challenges, learning difficulties or fluctuating capacity.
Key responsibilities
- Act as a key point of contact for customers who require additional support to maintain their tenancy.
- Build positive relationships and maintain regular contact with customers to provide early, preventative support.
- Identify risks such as rent arrears, safeguarding concerns, anti-social behaviour or property issues and intervene at an early stage.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to coordinate support and improve outcomes for customers.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records and contribute to a consistent safeguarding approach across the organisation.
What we're looking for
- Confidence in working with customers with a range of support needs.
- The ability to take a solutions based approach.
- Ability to build effective partnerships, and comfortable using sound judgement to resolve issues in a practical and sensitive way.
- Awareness of housing, support and safeguarding practice.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A compassionate, non-judgemental and solution-focused approach.
- Good IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- The ability to build strong partnerships with colleagues, local authorities and specialist services to identify risks early and put the right support in place
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
