An excellent opportunity has become available for a Principal Geoenvironmental Consultant to join a leading multidisciplinary consultancy in London. This role is ideal for an experienced consultant looking to take on a senior technical and client-facing position within a growing environmental and geotechnical team delivering major projects across the UK.

The successful Principal Geoenvironmental Consultant will lead and manage a wide range of land contamination, brownfield redevelopment, and environmental assessment projects across sectors including residential, commercial, infrastructure, and industrial development. You will play a key role in project delivery, mentoring junior staff, developing client relationships, and supporting business growth.

The successful Principal Geoenvironmental Consultant will be responsible for:

  • Managing geoenvironmental and contaminated land projects from inception through to completion
  • Overseeing Phase 1 and Phase 2 site investigations and remediation strategies
  • Producing and reviewing technical reports including risk assessments and validation reports
  • Liaising with clients, regulators, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring junior consultants
  • Supporting business development activities and preparing fee proposals
  • Managing project finances, resources, and programme delivery

The successful Principal Geoenvironmental Consultant will have:

  • A degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline
  • Significant consultancy experience within contaminated land and geoenvironmental engineering
  • Strong knowledge of UK contaminated land legislation and guidance
  • Experience managing complex projects and client relationships
  • Chartered status or progression towards chartership
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills
  • A full UK driving licence
