The Role
As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will:
- Lead the mechanical design and delivery of building services projects from concept through to completion.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and technicians.
- Manage project resources, programmes, and technical outputs.
- Prepare and review calculations, specifications, reports, and design documentation.
- Develop strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Coordinate with electrical, structural, and architectural teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
- Support and mentor junior engineers, helping to develop technical capability across the team.
- Contribute to business development activities and help identify new opportunities.
What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience in mechanical building services design within a consultancy environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, and public health systems.
- Experience delivering projects across residential, commercial, education, and healthcare sectors.
- Proven ability to lead projects and manage client relationships.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status, or working towards Chartership, would be advantageous.
