Salary: £65,000 + Excellent Benefits

About The Role

Are you an experienced Quality Engineer looking to take the lead on exciting engineering projects within a fast-paced and innovative environment?

We are looking for a Principal Project & Customer Quality Engineer to join a growing business where you will play a key role in driving product quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across complex electro-mechanical projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with customers, engineering teams, and project stakeholders to deliver high-quality products from concept through to production.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Acting as the main quality contact for both customers and internal project teams
  • Supporting new product introduction activities and ensuring a “right first time” approach
  • Leading customer quality investigations and resolving quality issues using structured problem-solving methods
  • Managing APQP activities and ensuring project quality deliverables are completed on time
  • Facilitating quality tools including:
    • FMEA
    • Control Plans
    • PPAP
    • FAIR
    • 8D investigations
  • Supporting PFMEA and Control Plan reviews with cross-functional teams
  • Monitoring and reporting project quality KPIs
  • Leading lessons learned and continuous improvement activities
  • Supporting compliance to ISO9001, IATF16949, and AS9100 standards
  • Attending customer meetings and presenting quality performance data
  • Driving a proactive, risk-based approach to quality across projects

What We’re Looking For:
  • Previous experience in a Quality Engineering role within electro-mechanical, automotive, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing environments
  • Strong understanding of APQP and quality core tools
  • Experience leading customer quality investigations and 8D activities
  • Knowledge of ISO9001, IATF16949, or AS9100 standards
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent experience
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work across multiple departments and with customers
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
