An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Associate to join a highly regarded and growing Private Client department. This role offers the chance to work within a specialist team handling high-quality work for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals through a long-standing banking relationship.
This is not a traditional Private Client role and would suit someone who enjoys technically strong work, fast-paced turnaround times, and working with affluent clients on complex estate and succession matters. The successful candidate will advise on a range of Private Client matters including inheritance tax planning, estate planning, Wills, LPAs, estate administration, and trusts.
The role can be based from either the Nottingham or Peterborough office, with some travel and occasional out-of-hours work required for meetings, networking, and training.
The Role
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied caseload including:
- Inheritance Tax and estate planning
- Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Estate administration
- Lifetime and discretionary trusts
- Complex and high-value estates
- Working closely with a banking referral stream involving affluent and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
- Advising clients remotely and face-to-face where required.
- Delivering work within tight turnaround times while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and referrers.
- Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to team growth.
- Ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Managing files efficiently while working towards individual targets.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- A relevant legal qualification.
- Ideally 3+ years PQE within Private Client.
- Strong technical knowledge across Private Client matters.
- Experience handling complex estates, inheritance tax planning, trusts, and estate administration work.
- Experience working with high-net-worth clients would be advantageous, though strong traditional Private Client candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent communication and client care skills.
- The ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience using case management systems and Microsoft Office.
