Shape the Future of Manufacturing

Are you the kind of engineer who enjoys improving processes, introducing new technology and finding smarter ways to manufacture? Do you want the freedom to influence how things are done rather than simply maintaining the status quo?

We're looking for a Production Engineer to join a leading advanced composites manufacturer in Bideford. This is an opportunity to become a key member of the engineering team, helping drive automation, improve machining processes and introduce new technologies that will shape the future of manufacturing.

While the business specialises in advanced composite machining, previous composites experience is not essential. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Driving automation projects and investigating new manufacturing technologies, including collaborative robots (Cobots).
  • Developing efficient, repeatable processes that improve productivity and reduce cycle times.
  • Designing and developing fixtures, tooling systems and workholding solutions.
  • Creating and proving out complex CNC programs.
  • Producing CAD models, assemblies and engineering drawings.
  • Working closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams to deliver accurate technical quotations and solve engineering challenges.
  • Supporting a right-first-time quality culture within AS9100, ISO9001 and automotive quality environments.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Strong experience creating and troubleshooting complex CNC programs.
  • Excellent understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.
  • Experience working within highly regulated quality systems such as AS9100 or TS16949.
  • A proactive approach with a passion for quality, continuous improvement and safe working practices.

Desirable

  • SolidWorks experience.
  • CAD/CAM expertise.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
  • An interest in automation and emerging manufacturing technologies.
