Salary: Circa £55,000 + benefits, with flexibility for the right candidate  Are you an experienced Paint Production Manager with a strong background in automated paint systems, high-volume manufacturing and continuous improvement?

We are recruiting for a leadership opportunity responsible for leading  paint facilities within a highly automated manufacturing environment. Reporting directly to the Painting & Assembly Director, this is a critical role focused on operational performance, technical excellence and the ongoing development of both people and processes.

This position based in North Yorkshire offers the opportunity to lead a substantial production operation, driving quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction while providing technical leadership across advanced robotic paint application systems.

The Role
  • Lead the safe, efficient and effective operation of multiple automated robotic paint lines, ensuring production, quality and delivery targets are achieved.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, OEE, material utilisation and overall operational performance.
  • Ensure all products meet customer quality, cosmetic and technical specifications, leading corrective actions where required.
  • Provide technical leadership across paint application processes, supporting the optimisation of robotic, electrostatic and conventional paint systems.
  • Support new product introductions, paint trials and process improvements to maintain world-class manufacturing standards.
  • Lead, coach and develop supervisors, team leaders and production teams, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement and high performance.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, COSHH and quality management requirements.
 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience managing high-volume paint production operations.
  • Strong knowledge of robotic paint application systems.
  • Extensive experience of both conventional and electrostatic paint spraying technologies.
  • A solid understanding of paint chemistry, application processes and paint delivery systems.
  • Experience within automotive, plastics, manufacturing or other high-volume production environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • A track record of delivering continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching and communication skills.
  • The ability to analyse operational and quality data to drive performance improvements.
