Are you an experienced Production Manager looking for an opportunity to make a genuine impact within a growing manufacturing business?

Our client, Ravago Manufacturing UK, is seeking a hands-on Production Manager to lead a multi-shift operation at their Leigh facility. This is a key leadership position with responsibility for driving operational performance, safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement across both Compounding and Granulation operations.

This is an exciting time to join the business, with significant UK growth plans, site expansion projects and a major plant relocation programme planned for the coming years.

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will provide senior shop-floor leadership across a complex manufacturing operation, ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective production while developing a high-performing team culture.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading all production activities across Compounding and Granulation operations
• Managing daily output, labour planning, productivity and operational performance
• Driving OEE improvements and implementing recovery plans where required
• Leading and developing supervisors and production teams across multiple shifts
• Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards
• Promoting a strong safety culture through risk assessments, training and near-miss reporting
• Controlling labour deployment and overtime expenditure
• Reducing scrap, downtime and rework through effective problem-solving
• Working closely with Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain teams to remove operational constraints
• Managing production KPIs, reporting and performance dashboards
• Supporting Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Ensuring production schedules meet internal and external customer requirements
• Playing a key role in future site relocation and multi-site operational activities

We are looking for an experienced manufacturing leader who can combine strong people management with operational excellence.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience in a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Senior Production Supervisor position
• Experience leading teams within a semi-continuous or batch manufacturing environment
• Strong track record of managing multi-shift operations
• IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
• Experience conducting risk assessments and driving safety improvements
• Strong understanding of OEE, production KPIs and performance management
• Experience using ERP and production reporting systems
• Practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills

• Plastics manufacturing, polymer processing, extrusion, compounding or recycling environments
• Granulation, extrusion, polymers, chemicals, FMCG, packaging or process manufacturing sectors

• Permanent full-time position
• Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 16:30
