Production Planner – Engineering Sector

Elevation Recruitment Group are proud to be working in partnership with a well-established and growing engineering manufacturer based in Sheffield, who are looking to appoint an experienced Production Planner to strengthen their operations team.

The role will play a key part in ensuring efficient production scheduling, material flow, and on-time delivery performance across the site.

The Role:

As Production Planner, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining accurate production schedules to meet customer demand while optimising capacity, materials, and labour resources. You will act as a central link between production, purchasing, engineering, and sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage detailed production schedules across multiple work centres

  • Align production plans with customer demand and project timelines

  • Monitor capacity and adjust schedules to resolve constraints and bottlenecks

  • Coordinate closely with procurement to ensure material availability

  • Track WIP and ensure smooth workflow through manufacturing

  • Review and update MRP/ERP system data for accuracy

  • Communicate schedule changes and priorities to shop floor teams

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within planning and scheduling processes

  • Produce planning and performance reports for management review

About You:

  • Proven experience in a Production Planner / Manufacturing Planner / Scheduler role

  • Background within engineering or manufacturing environments

  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems

  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Confident communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally

  • Strong Excel and data analysis capability

  • Able to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced production setting
