Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Warwick / Hybrid
Contract Type: 6 months with possibility for extension
Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of strategic Asset Management transformation initiatives within a complex infrastructure environment.
While the role sits within the Asset Management function, prior Asset Management experience is not essential. The successful candidate will be a strong, delivery-focused Project Manager who can leverage the extensive technical expertise already available within the team. The focus is on driving project delivery, governance, stakeholder engagement, and programme coordination rather than providing technical asset expertise.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with experience in regulated infrastructure sectors such as utilities, power, water, rail, highways, or similar environments.
Role Purpose
The Project Manager will support the delivery of two key strategic initiatives within the Asset Management Transformation Programme.
The initial focus will be a major regulatory project with a March 2027 delivery deadline. This programme involves collaborating with the UK's three Transmission Operators to align methodologies and models used across 11 asset groups managed within the transmission network.
The role will be responsible for ensuring effective project planning, stakeholder engagement, governance, workshop facilitation, and delivery management to ensure programme objectives are achieved on time and to the required quality standards.
Working within a blended Agile and Waterfall ("Wagile") environment, the Project Manager will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage dependencies, and drive delivery across multiple workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day project management activities across key Asset Management initiatives.
- Support delivery of a major regulatory programme focused on aligning asset risk methodologies across multiple Transmission Operators.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, risks, dependencies, and delivery trackers.
- Facilitate workshops and working groups involving internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate activities across multiple organisations and project teams to ensure alignment and progress.
- Manage project governance, reporting, action tracking, and decision-making forums.
- Ensure delivery milestones and programme timelines remain on track through proactive stakeholder management.
- Provide concise and effective updates to senior stakeholders and programme leadership.
- Collaborate with teams across Asset Management, Operations, Regulation, Digital, Data, and Technology functions.
- Identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support alignment between regulatory projects and wider strategic transformation initiatives.
- Drive adoption of project management best practice and delivery disciplines.
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven Project Management experience delivering complex programmes within regulated or infrastructure-based environments.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience facilitating workshops, coordinating multiple workstreams, and driving actions to completion.
- Excellent planning, governance, reporting, and delivery management capabilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities within a fast-paced programme environment.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Experience operating within blended Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
Desirable Experience
- Experience delivering data-driven projects or programmes were data, modelling, analytics, or reporting form a significant component of the work.
- Experience working within utilities, electricity transmission, energy, water, rail, highways, or similar infrastructure sectors.
- Experience supporting regulatory, compliance, or industry-wide transformation programmes.
- Understanding of Asset Management principles would be beneficial but is not a prerequisite.
Qualifications
- PRINCE2, APM, PMP, or equivalent Project Management qualification.
- Experience applying both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
