About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Operational Conformance Manager to champion a "Right First Time" culture across their operational delivery teams. This is a high-impact role focused on driving quality, compliance, continuous improvement, and operational excellence throughout the business.
Working closely with operational and HSQ teams, you will identify performance trends, investigate root causes of defects and rework, and implement sustainable solutions that improve project outcomes. You will play a key role in ensuring standards, quality, and governance are embedded across all areas of delivery while promoting a culture of accountability, transparency, and continual improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the management, investigation, and resolution of all rework, complaints, defects, and non-conformance issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
- Establish and monitor key operational performance indicators (KPIs), driving initiatives to maintain and improve performance.
- Develop and maintain risk-based priority plans, ensuring the highest-risk issues are addressed first.
- Carry out regular site visits to assess real-time performance, validate operational data, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Audit operational activities, provide constructive feedback, and report findings with clear recommendations.
- Develop and maintain standards, procedures, governance frameworks, and controls to ensure projects are delivered right first time.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate repeat failures and strengthen operational performance.
- Work collaboratively across departments to promote ownership and accountability for quality and conformance.
- Champion lessons learned processes, ensuring findings are documented, communicated, and incorporated into future project delivery.
- Facilitate operational review meetings and improvement workshops, ensuring actions are tracked through to completion.
- Support post-project reviews, client feedback processes, and emergency response activities where required.
- Assist the Operations Director with recruitment and development of team members within the Project Conformance function.
- Ensure effective management of personal and team workloads to achieve agreed objectives and targets.
About You:
- Engineering qualification, technical background, or significant practical site-based experience.
- Proven experience in quality, compliance, conformance, operational excellence, or continuous improvement roles.
- Strong understanding of root cause analysis, risk management, and performance improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to influence, motivate, and engage teams at all levels of an organisation.
- Strong customer focus and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of behavioural science principles would be advantageous.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and solutions-focused.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.
- Confident managing challenging situations and resolving conflict constructively.
