PSV/HGV Engineer

The Role:

Our client is seeking skilled Mechanical Engineers to join their engineering team in Ipswich. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and ready for service.

Key Duties:

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
• Accurately identify issues and determine appropriate repair methods
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections
• Use diagnostic equipment and handheld devices where required
• Attend roadside breakdowns and assist with vehicle recovery

About You:

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• Experience with HGV, PSV, or similar vehicles preferred
• Candidates from other engineering sectors or ex-Forces backgrounds considered
• Full UK driving licence required
• PCV licence desirable (training provided)
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Flexible approach to shift work

 Working Pattern:

• 5 days out of 7
• Rotating shifts:
  • Week 1: 07:00 – 15:00
  • Week 2: 12:00 – 20:00
