Astute Recruitment are working with a well-established and growing business based in Sutton in Ashfield to recruit a Purchase Ledger Clerk. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk or Accounts Payable professional to join a busy and supportive finance team.
This role is fully office-based and would suit someone who is highly organised, detail-focused, and confident managing high volumes of purchase ledger invoices in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities – Purchase Ledger Clerk
- Processing high volumes of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
- Scanning and inputting purchase ledger invoices onto the system
- Matching invoices to purchase orders (POs) and delivery notes
- Investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies
- Managing supplier queries via email and telephone
- Performing regular supplier statement reconciliations
- Chasing approvals for unmatched invoices
- Maintaining accurate purchase ledger records and filing systems
- Supporting the wider finance team with accounts payable duties
Requirements – Purchase Ledger Clerk
- Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger Clerk / Accounts Payable role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience handling high volumes of purchase ledger invoices
- Confident communicator when dealing with suppliers and internal teams
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Good working knowledge of finance systems and Excel
