We’re working with a well-established precision engineering company supplying into the aerospace sector, and they’re now looking to add a Purchasing Co-Ordinator to their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with previous purchasing, procurement, supply chain or production administration experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally precision engineering or aerospace.

The role will involve supporting day-to-day procurement activity, managing supplier communication, raising purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, and helping ensure materials and subcontract services are in place to support production.

Key responsibilities:

  • Raise and manage purchase orders in line with production schedules and MRP requirements
  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, and confirm lead times
  • Monitor orders and follow up on delays or supply issues
  • Maintain accurate supplier and purchasing records
  • Support supplier performance monitoring across cost, quality and delivery
  • Coordinate with production, engineering, quality and operations teams
  • Assist with stock control and inventory-related activity
  • Help resolve invoice discrepancies with suppliers and finance
  • Support wider production control and office administration where needed
  • Communicate schedule updates and help manage changing customer requirements

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, supply chain, planning or production support role
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, aerospace or a production environment
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
  • ERP / MRP experience would be a strong advantage
  • Engineering or production knowledge would be beneficial

Desirable:

  • Experience working with subcontract suppliers
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards or regulated industries
  • CIPS qualification, or working towards it
  • Knowledge of production planning / scheduling processes

Additional information:

  • This is an office-based role within a manufacturing environment
  • Some flexibility on hours may be available, but the successful person would need to be on site for part of each working day
  • Core hours are Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 4:30pm and Friday 7:30am – 1:30pm
  • The site is located within the ULEZ zone
