Python Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build backend components for risk engines, analytics pipelines, and end‑of‑day processing.

• Develop high‑performance Python services for modelling, calculations, and data transformation.

• Enhance and maintain internal risk platforms aligned with industry frameworks and regulatory expectations.

• Collaborate closely with risk SMEs, quants, and technical BAs to refine requirements and deliver robust solutions.

• Optimise computation‑heavy workloads and ensure accuracy, stability, and auditability of risk outputs.

• Contribute to architectural discussions and technical design reviews.

Core Skills & Experience

• Expert Python development, particularly in backend and data‑processing contexts.

• Proven experience building computation‑heavy or risk‑calculation systems.

• Strong understanding of market risk, credit risk, capital, or liquidity concepts.

• Experience working on enterprise risk platforms (internal or vendor‑style frameworks).

• Familiarity with regulatory drivers influencing risk technology (e.g., Basel, PRA, CRR).

• Comfortable working in environments that are not heavily cloud‑native; experience with on‑prem or hybrid architectures.

• Ability to work in fast‑moving regulatory or remediation programmes.

• Strong communication skills and ability to partner with risk and technology stakeholders.

• Experience in financial‑services environments with high data‑quality and control expectations.
