About the Role
An independent school in Bushey is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and nurturing Pre-School Room Leader to join its Early Years team from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Early Years professional to lead a pre-school room within a respected independent school setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming and stimulating environment where children can develop socially, emotionally, and academically, while supporting a dedicated team in delivering outstanding early years provision.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operation of the Pre-School Room, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality learning opportunities in line with the EYFS framework.
- Support and monitor children's progress, maintaining accurate observations and assessments.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Lead, motivate, and support room staff, promoting best practice across the setting.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and welfare requirements are consistently met.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and Early Years provision.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and/or Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS).
- A relevant Early Years qualification.
- Previous experience working within a pre-school, nursery, or Early Years setting.
- Experience leading a room, managing a team, or supervising colleagues within an Early Years environment.
- Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and child development.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to create engaging learning experiences that support children's development and wellbeing.
- A genuine passion for Early Years education and helping young children reach their full potential.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
