We’re looking for a Quality Control Inspector based at our Capenhurst or Birchwood site. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining quality standards by inspecting and controlling all quality-graded equipment entering site. You will play a key part in ensuring a high level of technical quality and fostering a strong quality-focused culture across operations.

What you’ll do:
- Goods Receipt & Processes: Support and follow Goods Receipt processes and procedures
- Incoming Inspections: Inspect all incoming quality-graded goods within the stores/Goods In area
- Supplier Compliance: Work with Procurement to ensure suppliers meet order and specification requirements
- Supplier Visits: Carry out supplier inspections when required
- Standards & Specifications: Ensure all products meet relevant standards and specifications
- Documentation Sign-Off: Review and sign off inspection records and related documentation
- Technical Inspections: Perform visual and dimensional inspections, including weld checks where needed
- QA/QC Leadership: Act as the main QA/QC contact on site for new or refurbished equipment
- Quality Authority: Take ownership of Goods In quality approvals and sign-off
- Quality Planning: Ensure QCPs and ITPs are in place and followed
- Quality Records: Check incoming quality documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Non-Conformance Management: Raise and track NCRs in line with procedures
- Continuous Improvement: Identify improvements and share lessons learned from quality issues
- Audit Support: Support internal and external audits and compliance activities
What do you need to thrive in this role?
- Experience: At least 5 years’ experience as a Quality Control Inspector
- Quality Records: Experience reviewing Lifetime Quality Records within a regulated industry
- Certification Knowledge: Familiarity with certification processes in a technical environment
- Quality Processes: Strong understanding of Quality Control processes, plans, QCPs and ITPs
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Inspection Expertise: Hands-on experience with welding processes and visual inspections
- NDT Knowledge: Understanding of a range of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques
- Inspection Tools: Experience using inspection equipment (e.g. borescopes, callipers, gauges)
- Standards Awareness: Good knowledge of relevant quality standards
- Communication: Strong reporting and written communication skills

Security vetting
Due to the nature of the industry that Urenco operates in, all personnel regardless of employment status working for Urenco are required to obtain security clearance at the level required for their role. Security clearances are assessed in accordance with regulations and official guidance issued by the relevant competent authorities for national security vetting. In certain circumstances, additional enhanced security clearance considerations apply to roles within Urenco owing to the particular activities that the Urenco Group undertakes in relation to uranium enrichment. Successful candidates will need to satisfy security requirements, and all offers of appointment are made subject to the successful approval of all checks initiated.
