Commercial Vehicle Quality Technician

About the Role

We’re recruiting on behalf of our client for a Commercial Vehicle Quality Technician to join a busy production and workshop environment. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring all vehicle builds, modifications, and installations meet strict quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications before delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Inspection & Assurance

• Carry out detailed inspections of completed commercial vehicles, including bodywork, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Inspect conversions such as lutons, dropsides, platforms, and curtain siders
• Ensure all work meets job cards, technical drawings, and build specifications

Compliance & Standards

• Ensure all builds comply with company procedures, safety standards, and relevant regulations
• Verify that build documentation and inspection records are completed accurately
• Support adherence to manufacturer and industry standards

Production Support & Continuous Improvement

• Work collaboratively with production teams to maintain high-quality build standards
• Provide feedback on recurring issues and quality concerns

Documentation & Reporting

• Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records
• Ensure documentation is stored correctly for audit and traceability purposes
• Clearly communicate defects and rework requirements to relevant teams

Health, Safety & Housekeeping

• Follow all health & safety procedures and safe working practices
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
• Adhere to company policies and housekeeping standards

About You

We’re looking for someone with a strong eye for detail and a proactive approach to quality control.

• Previous experience working with commercial vehicles in a workshop, manufacturing, or conversion environment
• Good understanding of vehicle body builds and installation processes
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and job specifications
