Quality Inspector - Fabrication (Sheet Metal & Welding) - This is a hands-on, shop floor mechanical inspection, quality role inspecting fabricated sheet metal, welded and assembled parts (first-off through to final inspection). The role offers variety and responsibility: and involves stage inspections, non-conformance control, and producing clear inspection reports. You will get the chance to build exposure to First Article Inspection (FAI) to AS9102 standards and use quality systems such as Q-Pulse.
You will be working in a team at this established aerospace company with 5S standards and with close collaboration with Production teams.
Key Responsibilities
Complete first-off, stage and final inspections of fabricated sheet metal, welded and assembled components.
Ensure all work complies with customer requirements and industry specifications.
Produce inspection reports and First Article Inspection documentation to AS9102 requirements.
Identify and report non-conforming product and support MRB (Material Review Board) and RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) activity.
Maintain inspection and quality records in the quality management system and keep documentation up to date.
Measure components using hand tools (vernier calipers, micrometers, etc.) and verify against engineering drawings.
Contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
Maintain 5S (workplace organisation) and keep your area clean, neat and audit-ready.
Qualifications (Required)
Fine-limit technical/inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience using hand measurement tools (vernier, micrometer, etc.).
Strong understanding of engineering drawings.
Good attention to detail, communication skills, and problem-solving ability.
Confident using PC/software systems.
