Role Purpose:

Provide and ensure high quality standards of the company are met and its products. As well as quality assurance support to customers & suppliers, resolving quality enquiries, requests, returns and investigations. Key function is to ensure quality requirements are dealt with in an effective and excellent standard.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Ensure products meet the organisations and customers’ quality & product integrity requirements.
  • Identifies root causes of problems, recommends and/or implements corrective measures.
  • Analyzes data to identify trends in quality with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence.
  • Update the Quality Management System (QMS) with incidents, fixes, and improvements.
  • Maintain ISO certification.
  • Manage & maintain major OEM portals.
  • Carry out certification of products and generating certificates.
  • Prepare reports on malfunctions, customer returns and corrective actions (Pareto, PPM, etc.)
  • Coordinate with Customer and Supplier quality team members.
  • Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Analysing and assessing when a customer has a problem or complaint and addressing it.
  • Handling problems that have been escalated, solving where possible and escalating further when necessary.
  • Answering telephone calls and assisting in covering the Lab mailbox.
  • Completing Customer or Supplier Questionnaires.

Core Skills:

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Hands-on technical expertise and manufacturing support are essential.
  • Test quality engineering experience (Engine, Hydraulic systems, etc.) essential.
  • Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team, collaborating where required to achieve optimum outcomes.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety Requirements:

  • Read, understand and abide by company Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety policies and discuss with their immediate superior any specific points which require clarification.
  • Take reasonable care for their own safety and those around them who may be affected by their acts or omissions.
  • Co-operate with the company in achieving and maintaining Quality, Environmental Health & Safety standards where required and as directed.
  • Report to supervisor / department lead any actual or potential risks, accidents or dangerous occurrences that they identify.

Company Security Requirements:

  • Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of company information is maintained and is not compromised.
  • Observe and adhere to IT policies and procedures.
  • Report any security incident or perceived irregularity to their supervisor and/or IT.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Computer literate, with sound knowledge of Microsoft packages and experienced in use of MRP & CRM systems. Knowledge of ERP systems or similar advantageous.
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing environment essential.
  • Engineering Qualification, preferably in Quality / Mechanical discipline.
