I’m working with a well-established and highly regarded brickwork subcontractor who is looking to bring in an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support their growing commercial team.
This is a great opportunity to join a business with a strong reputation in the market, a healthy pipeline of work, and a portfolio of projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of multiple brickwork packages from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with the operations and senior management teams to ensure projects are delivered profitably and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the commercial delivery of brickwork and masonry packages
- Preparing and submitting valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Reviewing and negotiating subcontract and main contract terms
- Cost reporting, forecasting, and budget control
- Managing payments, applications, and cash flow
- Identifying and pricing variations and change orders
- Liaising with site teams, clients, and contractors
- Supporting procurement and material buying where required
- Ensuring commercial risks are identified and managed effectively
What I’m Looking For
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within brickwork
- Strong understanding of brickwork packages, labour, materials, and programme
- Experience working for a subcontractor is essential
- Good knowledge of valuations, CVRs, variations, and final accounts
- Confident working independently and managing multiple live projects
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- A commercially astute and proactive approach
