Quantity Surveyor Construction

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Clerk of Works / Construction Quality Surveyor to join a growing construction and property team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring construction works on-site, ensuring projects are delivered to the required quality standards, specification, and regulatory compliance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong construction knowledge to work across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting regular site inspections to monitor quality and workmanship
• Ensuring construction works comply with drawings, specifications, building regulations, and health & safety standards
• Identifying defects, non-conformities, and areas requiring corrective action
• Preparing detailed inspection reports and maintaining accurate site records
• Monitoring contractor performance and workmanship standards
• Attending site meetings with clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders
• Reviewing materials and construction methods to ensure compliance with project requirements
• Supporting project teams with quality assurance and snagging processes
• Reporting on project progress, risks, and quality concerns to senior management
• Ensuring projects are completed in line with contractual and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Clerk of Works, Quality Surveyor, Site Inspector, or similar role
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality standards
• Experience across residential, commercial, or civil engineering projects preferred
• Excellent attention to detail and reporting skills
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Membership with ICWCI, CIOB, RICS, or similar professional body desirable
• Full UK driving licence preferred
