Quantity Surveyor - Refurbishment & Social Housing - Freelance
A leading UK property maintenance and refurbishment contractor are busy and have just been awarded a new contract from a key client
They need an experienced QS who can hit the ground running and take full commercial ownership of a new project.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Pricing and evaluating works, materials, and services
- Managing client relationships and commercial discussions
- Producing accurate cost‑to‑complete forecasts
- Reviewing contract conditions and advising delivery teams
- Ensuring compliance with H&S, legal, and quality requirements
- Preparing and submitting loss & expense claims
- Leading your own projects commercially from start to finish
- Completing post‑project commercial evaluations
What You’ll Bring
- Strong QS experience within construction
- Refurbishment background — ideally social housing
- Solid contract knowledge and commercial awareness
- Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills
- Excellent analytical and financial capability
- Knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates 6 & 7
- A proactive, organised approach with the ability to deliver under pressure
