We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join a live construction project in York.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially strong QS who is confident operating as the number one commercial lead on site, taking full responsibility for all project commercial matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading all commercial aspects of the project as the number one on site
- Managing procurement processes and subcontractor packages
- Overseeing subcontractor management, valuations, payments, and variations
- Producing accurate cost reporting, forecasting, and commercial updates
- Working closely with the Project Manager to ensure successful delivery
- Monitoring budgets, risks, and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle
- Supporting the project team to achieve programme and financial targets
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction projects
- Previous experience leading commercial duties independently on site
- Strong procurement and subcontractor management background
- Excellent commercial reporting and cost control skills
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities
- Relevant Quantity Surveying or Construction qualification preferred
