We are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor for a leading Social Housing provider based in Worcestershire, supporting commercial and property services across the local region on a permanent basis.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs, valuations, and financial performance across a range of housing projects, ensuring value for money and compliance with contractual obligations.

Rate: £46,887 plus a £1,300 car allowance

About the Company:

Our client is a well-established Social Housing group managing a large portfolio of residential properties across Worcestershire and the surrounding areas. They are committed to delivering high-quality homes, maintaining strong financial control, and providing excellent services to their tenants and communities.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing cost estimates, budgets, and financial reporting across multiple projects
  • Preparing tender and contract documentation and supporting procurement processes
  • Valuing works and managing interim and final accounts with contractors
  • Monitoring project costs and identifying risks or opportunities to ensure cost efficiency
  • Supporting contract administration and ensuring compliance with contractual terms
  • Working closely with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Handling variations, change control processes, and dispute resolution where required
  • Ensuring accurate record-keeping and financial tracking using internal systems
  • Supporting the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance programmes
The successful Quantity Surveyor will have:
  • Proven experience in a similar Quantity Surveyor role, ideally within Social Housing or public sector projects
  • A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of cost management, contracts, and procurement processes
  • Experience managing contractor relationships and financial negotiations
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and relevant commercial systems
