Key responsibilities will include:

  • Attending pre-contract meetings with clients, consultants and key stakeholders to support commercial alignment and successful project mobilisation.
  • Travelling to client sites across the UK and Europe to participate in project review meetings,
  • Negotiating and administering subcontract agreements.
  • Preparing and managing interim applications and final accounts.
  • Identifying, valuing and agreeing variations.
  • Producing accurate cost reports, cash flow forecasts and WIP reporting.
  • Managing payments to subcontractors in line with contractual obligations.
  • Assessing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.
  • Leading negotiations to resolve disputes and minimise project impact.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with commercially driven Quantity Surveyors who can demonstrate:

• A strong understanding of standard forms of construction contract law.
• At least five years' post-graduate experience working with contractors or subcontractors.
• Proven experience in cost control, interim valuations and final accounts.
• Excellent negotiation and contract administration skills.
• The ability to identify and manage variations and commercial risk.
• Strong analytical, numerical and reporting capabilities.
• Experience preparing cash flow forecasts and WIP reports.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The confidence to represent the business in meetings with clients and project partners.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software.
• A valid UK driving licence and current CSCS card.
• A willingness to travel as required to support projects and attend client meetings.

Desirable Experience

Applications are particularly welcomed from candidates with:

• A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Membership of, or progression towards, a professional body such as RICS.
• Previous experience within the electrical, switchgear or wider engineering sectors.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join a business with a strong reputation for delivering specialist engineering solutions on complex projects throughout the UK and Europe.

Alongside genuine responsibility and varied project exposure, you'll benefit from direct client interaction and the chance to broaden your experience through involvement in projects beyond the UK market. All travel associated with attending client pre-contract and project review meetings will be fully supported, with all reasonable business expenses covered by the company.
