Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the full commercial lifecycle of projects within a fast-paced facilities management (FM) environment.
This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate cost control, strong financial governance, and effective contract management across capital projects, lifecycle works, and reactive programmes. Operating within NEC4 contractual frameworks, the position requires a confident commercial professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret technical information.
You will work collaboratively with Project Managers, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure commercial best practice is upheld throughout pre-contract and post-contract stages. The role will involve preparing clear commercial documentation, monitoring supplier performance, and supporting the delivery of compliant, high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive project requests from the client and review supplier tenders to establish requirements.
- Prepare and issue tender documentation in line with NEC and internal processes.
- Analyse returned tenders and provide informed commercial recommendations.
- Prepare supplier appointment documentation, including Deal Sheets, subcontract agreements, and pricing schedules.
- Upload tender information, priced proposals, and supporting documentation into CEMAR or other digital systems.
- Maintain cost control, forecasting, and commercial reporting throughout project delivery.
- Prepare monthly valuations and applications for payment in accordance with NEC procedures.
- Review, validate, and approve supplier applications, invoices, variations, and final accounts.
Person Specification
- Strong experience in cost planning, estimating, valuations, and commercial reporting.
- Proven knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 administration, including CEs and EWNs.
- Confident in preparing and analysing tenders, supplier submissions, and subcontract documentation.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, lookups, modelling, and data validation.
- Ability to interpret scopes, drawings, specifications, and FM-related technical details.
- Experience using digital contract management systems such as CEMAR.
- Commercial experience in FM, construction, lifecycle, or maintenance environments.
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline. Or has experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor and is actively working toward professional qualification.
- UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
