About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing construction team based in Newcastle upon Tyne. This role will involve working across a range of residential and commercial projects, supporting cost management, procurement, and financial control from pre-construction through to project completion.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who has experience managing costs on building projects and is looking to join a dynamic and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts

• Carry out cost analysis and value engineering for residential and commercial developments

• Prepare tender documentation and assist with contractor procurement

• Evaluate subcontractor tenders and negotiate contracts

• Manage interim valuations, variations, and final accounts

• Monitor project costs and report regularly on financial performance

• Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure projects remain within budget

• Ensure compliance with contractual and commercial requirements

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry

• Experience working on residential and commercial construction projects

• Strong knowledge of cost management, procurement, and contract administration

• Familiarity with standard forms of contract (e.g., JCT)

• Excellent negotiation and analytical skills

• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

• Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (preferred)
